Naknek River, Alaska

If you were wondering what fishing would be like in late September and October at Crystal Creek Lodge, check out this photo gallery of the big Naknek River rainbows that we see each fall (click on the image to enlarge). This late fall time is ideal for landing one of these giant steelhead-like rainbows. In addition, the fall is prime time to catch the trophy Arctic Char in their orange regalia. In October, the trout and char are at their largest, the bears are still roaming the banks, and the beer is extra tasty. We have a few spaces remaining in a special “Bears, Beers, and Bows” week.
