The 4,725,000 acre Katmai National Park and the 1,157,000 acre Becharof National Wildlife Refuge are both within sight of the lodge, and each offers a multitude of day trip possibilities.

Persons desiring to fish can ask for a “Park tour” or a “Refuge tour” wherein you and your party of friends can fly through the incredible scenery as you sample the fishing at two or more streams, breaking the day with lunch at a scenic location.
Persons desiring a tour without fishing can visit the Valley of 10,000 smokes at Katmai National Park, lunch at a scenic point or island, then an afternoon of bear viewing or hiking. Another option is the Gas Rocks, a carbon dioxide vent at a dormant volcanic crater, and an afternoon hike. Those are only two examples of the many creative tour opportunities we can provide.
